One of my little projects this week

was painting a ceiling medallion

to blend with a client's dining room decor.

A very simple combination of

 bronze and antique gold

would do nicely in her room.

It took me less than an hour to do this.

But what surprised me most

was seeing the same ceiling medallion

at a local lighting store

for $314 ON SALE!

So where to start?

First, let me say this:
there is no ONE PERFECT COLOR

for any room --

it's a matter of personal choice
and that depends

Happy New Year!

Let this coming year be better than all the others.

Vow to do some of the things you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time.

Call up a forgotten friend.

Drop an old grudge, and replace it with some pleasant memories.

Vow not to make a promise you don't think you can keep.

Walk tall, and smile more. You'll look ten years younger.

Dear friends,

Life can be fast-paced and complicated,

especially at this time of year

when the holidays are nipping at our heels.

Like me, you may need a moment to pause for reflection,

so I offer this message sent by our daughter.

She works with mentally disabled folks each day.

Her uncle, my brother, is very much like Kevin.

Sophia is growing up

So we packed our bags, tools and paint

and headed out of town for a week.

This time it was a renovation project.

The library walls were painted

We lightly glazed them

Not knowing if this baby would be a boy or girl,

I painted two name plates.

Just as we girls like a little pampering, so do our pets!   A friend recently made a big career change and is getting ready to open a Grooming Studio.
Having a real rug in the shop isn't practical, so she asked if I would paint one for her.

Today, I'm painting furniture,

which is a slow process
of waiting for primer and paint to dry.

So in between each coat of paint,

I decided to do a small project inspired by my garden.

I'm neither a skilled nor diligent gardener.

In fact, I'm a lazy gardener.

I plant what pleases me and when time permits,
I attack the weeds.
